MLK Jr. Day of Service 2015

Lower School MLK Day Sandwich Making 2015

On Monday, January 19, 2015 nearly 130 Lower School volunteers came together on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to make sandwiches for Martha’s Table in Washington, DC. From meat, cheese, PBJ, and bread donations to our Lower School community and gift cards from local vendors, we were able to assemble and deliver over 1,000 sandwiches to feed the hungry on Monday night.

Meanwhile, some of Holton's Upper School students volunteered in the donations area and “boutique” of the Greentree Shelter, run by the National Center of Children and Families. They sorted clothes and other household donations, as well as organized the “boutique” side where clients are able to come and “shop” for free.
